The Prediction

The world’s top 49th seed Cameron Norrie and 125 Arthur Rinderknech each achieved their biggest wins in their careers yesterday in Lyon, in terms of rating at least, with Nuri taking Dominic Thyme Wendermenich out of a mixed bag. Yannick Senner. Nuri’s 25-year-old win in straight sets over fourth-ranked Tim was exceptional, but today’s story was probably Rinderknech’s incredible battle to defeat Sinner in front of strong home support for the French player and that could be the difference here. Nouri enjoyed the best form of his career throughout the 2021 season, with one of the best winning percentages in the 21-10 round, and the winner of that first meeting should be in shape. Arthur Rinderknech however, would be cheerful, if a little tired, after his fourth straight win in three sets here at Lyon and the crowd could pull him over the line again. Taking Nuri to win a group at least here is the wiser, albeit safer, option.
